G Saravanan

Saravanan is a seasoned CIO and CTO with over 25 years of experience leading information technology initiatives in the healthcare sector. Since September 2025, he has served as Chief Information Officer of the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), where he drives national digital health transformation programmes, including the National Cancer Screening Registry and AI-enabled public health initiatives.

He holds several regional and international leadership roles, including Vice Chairman of HL7 Malaysia, APAC Board Member of HIMSS, Board Member of the Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN), and Working Committee Member of Digital Health Malaysia. Through these positions, he actively promotes interoperability, health data standards, and collaborative policy development across the Asia-Pacific region.

Previously, he led IT at TMC Life Sciences Bhd, focusing on improving healthcare operations and patient outcomes. His career spans Southeast Asia and the Middle East, covering IT strategy, hospital operations, telemedicine ecosystems, and regulatory compliance. He has delivered large-scale AI initiatives, including PERKESO’s contact centre automation and nationwide lung cancer screening programmes.

His expertise includes healthcare IT strategy, enterprise architecture, data management, and project delivery. He holds certifications in HL7, DICOM, ISO 27001, CISM, HIPAA, PRINCE2, TOGAF, and blockchain, and is an active contributor to global healthcare IT advancement.
