Vivek Jason Jayaraj

Dr Vivek Jason Jayaraj is a Public Health Physician with the Ministry of Health Malaysia and Deputy Director (Analytics & Informatics) at the Digital Health Division, where he leads efforts to strengthen public health intelligence through a national digital health data strategy. His expertise sits at the intersection of epidemiology, analytics, and health systems, applying mathematical, time-series, and machine-learning methods to problems such as COVID-19, dengue, HFMD, growth and nutrition, colorectal cancer, and human resource optimisation. His work has supported policy and operational decision-making, particularly in outbreak prediction and prevention. He has published widely in infectious disease modelling, COVID-19 epidemiology, and vaccine effectiveness, and leads initiatives including RECoVaM and automation in ICD-10 coding for death registration. Committed to capacity building, he regularly teaches and trains in epidemiology and data science locally and internationally.
