YB Gobind Singh Deo

YB Gobind Singh Deo is Malaysia’s first Minister of Digital, and also serves as the elected Member of Parliament for Damansara.

Under his leadership, Malaysia has driven landmark reforms, including the Cyber Security Act 2024, the Data Sharing Act 2025, the National Cloud Computing Policy, and amendments to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, alongside the establishment of the National Artificial Intelligence Office (NAIO). He also spearheaded the inaugural ASEAN AI Malaysia Summit, underscoring Malaysia’s regional leadership in emerging technologies.

YB Gobind previously served as Minister of Communications and Multimedia from 2018 to 2020, where he championed digital inclusion and affordable connectivity.
Trained as a barrister of Lincoln’s Inn and admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1996, he built a distinguished career as one of Malaysia’s leading criminal, constitutional, and human rights lawyers before entering ministerial service.
